3 Insane Ways to Love People who Judge You

"Sometimes it’s easier to say we don’t know anyone who doesn’t like us – that way we don’t have to figure out how to restore the relationship. But who hasn’t been judged , talked down to, lied about, viewed improperly, or pierced right through and left with a broken heart?

It begins by returning to our roots. We are all broken. We are all human. We all need love and forgiveness. And when we stop expecting people to be perfect, we can start liking them for who they are.
Below are 3 insane ways to show love to those who judge you, hate you, or just don’t like you. Authenticity is key and you’re heart must be right. It will be tough, but you will win – love always wins.

3 Ways to Love People who Judge You:
  1. Wash Their Freaking Car: I’m being serious. I once went to watch Bob Goff speak at an event. I was observing the event coordinators freak out because nobody could find Bob. It was 15 minutes before he was supposed to be live in front of 5,000 people. Then 5 minutes before his stage time, he was spotted washing cars in the parking lot of the venue. Holy CRAP! That was awesome. If you have someone who judges you, grab a bucket, some cleaning supplies, and a few towels and wash their freaking car. I guarantee it will change your relationship with this person forever.
  2. Write them a letter telling them how great they are: This can be private or public. It all depends on how insanely awesome you are. Start out with sharing a positive story about the person and how much they have helped you become the person you are today. List 3 things about this person’s character that all people can learn from (their energy, patience, ability to smile, etc.) then send it to them, or post it on your Facebook page.
  3. Buy them something extravagant: I’m not talking about a $100 gift card nor am I talking about a car. Go out and buy them or make them something that has significant cost to you – in either time or money. Something that says, “I thought deeply about you and I love you.” Give the gift with a card or letter as described in step 2. You’ll be surprised how far a thoughtful gift can go to someone who never expects it."
